PELESTAT & PELECTRON – Unaffected by Changes in Relative Humidity

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Did You Know:   PELESTAT and PELECTRON permanent anti-static additives permit the achievement of Surface Resistivity values in the 10E9 – 10E12 ohm/sq range regardless of the level of relative humidity in the service environment. Ordinary anti-static additives work by attracting moisture from the ambient atmosphere to form a microscopic layer of water on the surface of the plastic component.  This mechanism is dependent upon and affected by the level of relative humidity. This is why ordinary anti-static additives do not function well in dry environments. However, PELESTAT and PELECTRON […]

PELESTAT & PELECTRON – TRUE Permanent Anti-static Additives

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Did You Know:   PELESTAT and PELECTRON permanent anti-static additives do NOT lose effectiveness over time.  Unlike ordinary anti-static additives which migrate over time, PELESTAT and PELECTRON are true permanent anti-static additives.  They do not migrate and, thus, never lose their effectiveness.  Surface Resistivity as molded is the same one year, five years, ten years later.  This is important for applications involving long service life.  Use the Contact Us link for Long Term testing data.

SANMODUR: A Better Process for a Better Modelboard !

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

SANMODUR is superior to competitive modelboards because of it’s manufacturing process. Sanyo’s patented “Mechanical Frothing” process results in smaller cells (bubbles) and a smoother surface. As a result of this finer cell structure, a lower density SANMODUR grade will provide surface quality equal to a higher density competitive product. Smaller cells allow engineers and modelmakers to “lighten up” to reap significant material cost savings without sacrificing surface quality. SANMODUR has been used extensively by Asian automakers for more than 30 years.

PELECTRON LIP

By: | Tags: | Comments: 0

Sanyo Chemical Industries continues to expand the performance envelope of permanent anti-static additives.  SANAM has recently introduced trial grade PELECTRON LIP, a permanent polymeric anti-static additive which can be used to produce static-dissipative, transparent acrylic (PMMA) compounds with Surface Resistivity values in the 10E9 – 10E12 ohm/sq range.   Unique features of PELECTRON LIP include its ultra-light color, its low ionic content and its low outgassing.  Clear compounds are achievable because PELECTRON LIP matches the refractive index of PMMA.  Like all PELESTAT and PELECTRON anti-static products, PELECTRON PVL will not […]
